46th BCS prelims on April 26

Dhaka: The Public Works Commission (PSC) has decided to conduct the preliminary examination of the 46th BCS on April 26.

According to PSC sources, this decision was made in a special meeting of the commission on Sunday (February 18).

The 46th BCS preliminary exam was scheduled to be held on March 9, but the date was changed due to the city corporation elections.

Officials of PSC say that to make up for the damage caused by delaying the preliminary examination, it was decided to publish the results and conduct the written examination in a quick time.

The 46th BCS preliminary examination will be held simultaneously in the divisional cities of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh.

According to commission sources, the 46th BCS notification was published on 30 November 2023. 3 thousand 140 people will be appointed in this BCS. 1,682 assistant surgeons in health cadre, 16 assistant dental surgeons and 520 in education cadre will be recruited. 274 people will be taken in administration cadre, 10 in foreign affairs, 80 in police, 14 in Ansar, 26 in fisheries and 65 in public works.

A total of 338 thousand applications have been submitted against a total of 3 thousand 140 vacant posts.
